Title Deeds Endorsement
A title deed of a property may require that it be endorsed to reflect that the person is now a party to a marriage in community of property and to record the names of the new spouse on the title deed. A title deed may also need to be endorsed to effect transfer of the property after divorce to reflect that one or all of the spouses has become the sole owner or owners of the respective half shares in the property. A title deed may also need to be endorsed after the death of one of the spouses to effect transfer to the surviving spouse. Sometimes the deed is endorsed to record the names of the beneficiaries of the property who are unable to pay for transfer costs to have the property transferred into their names.
